Affiliate Marketing Strategy – Squidoo Lens

March 1st, 2010

You might have heard about Squidoo..

But WHAT is it?

In squidoo’s own words, a squidoo lens is:

Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything you know about your topic of interest–and snap it all into focus.

So, squidoo is a place for lenses.

In other words, a squidoo is a article directory mixed with social media, Web 2.0 and blog format.

Why use Squidoo?

Because Google loves it, and ranks your squidoo lense high if it has backlinks, is well written with unique content, gets comments and votes.

As with any article, blog or website, squidoo takes some time to master, but even newbies can drive great traffic with squidoo.

Another great thing about squidoo is that you can link directly to your affiliate links.

AND, you can monetize with squidoo’s own royalty program, if your lenses gets popular and used elsewhere.

There are people that manage to create a full time income just from squidoo lenses.

So, why not give it a try, and incorporate it into your affiliate marketing strategy.

Affiliate Marketing Tool – Google Webmaster Tools

February 27th, 2010

Want to know how to quickly get listed in google..

..and get access to handy information about what keywords you are ranking for, their ranking and relevance?

Cool!

The secret can be found in Google’s Webmaster Tools.

Go ahead and register, and you will be able to register your site for indexing with google.

To do so, follow the instructions provided.

Once you’ve registered your site, I advice you to submit a sitemap.xml, which lists all the content on your site as well as othe information.

You can easily generate a sitemap to your sitemap for free. Just google “sitemap generator” or “sitemap how to” etc.

For wordpress, there are several plugins that can generate sitemaps for you.

Once your sitemap has been submitted, it normally goes even quicker to get a listing in google.

After your site has been registered and indexed by google, you can use Google’s Webmaster Tools to find information on what pagerank you have for different keywords, and what keywords google consider you to be most relevant to.

Go and have a look, and get just addicted to these tools as I am :)

Affiliate Marketing Strategy – Twitter Party

February 26th, 2010

Twitter is a tool you should incorporate into your affiliate marketing strategy.

But HOW?

I hear people ask that question all the time.

Treat it like a PARTY!

When you’re tweeting you are interacting with and meeting new people and potential new friends, business partners, coaches, students, clients etc..

Just like a party, Twitter is a place to get to know people, have fun and build report and trust.

So, what’s the point?

Do some marketing, but only to your blog, articles etc.

Would you promote Dog Training ebooks (or other affiliate products) at a party?

..NO!

Then don’t do it at Twitter, either. Most people will ignore you, and label you as a salesman/marketer for obviously selling on Twitter.

You can go around this by using Twitter to increase followers and build relationships and get more friends, which you then direct to your blog or other marketing material.

Also, offer free gifts, value or contribute positively in some way.

Twitter can be a wonderful affiliate marketing tool in the long term if used properly.

Tips Affiliate Marketing – Article Bio/Author Box

February 25th, 2010

Here’s a great article marketing tip that’s easily overlooked.

Follow these easy steps:

  • Get a domain name related to what you are promoting as an affiliate
  • Set your domain to forward your affiliate link
  • Write an article and submit it to one or more article directories
  • List the above mentioned domain as your author website with your keyword as title

Most article directories still allow this.

They don’t allow plain affiliate links, but cloaked under your own personal domain name it’s still possible to do this.

But hurry! This secret might not be possible to exploit for very long.

Affiliate Marketing Strategy – Squeezepage

February 24th, 2010

What divides most super affiliates from the affiliates marketing newbies?

The answer lies in this one word:

>> SQUEEZEPAGES <<

When first starting with affiliate marketing, what most people do is:

  • Stumble across a product they want to promote
  • Get their affiliate link
  • Spread the link all over the internet in an attempt to make a few sales

While this process might net you some sales, and can even be refined into perfection, it has one major flaw (oops)!

It does NOT build a list for you.

Wouldn’t it be better to, after a month’s worth of affiliate marketing..

..end up with a list of people interested in the products you are promoting?

If you have a list, you can:

a) Softsell your prospect over time (studies show that most people by first after having repeatedly exposed to a marketing message, as opposed to 1 single time)

b) Sell to your buyers again and again and again and.. (yes, sell to the repeatedly – over and over.. until they stop)

How do I build a list?
The easiest way to start building a list of email addresses of potential (and actual) customers is to set up a squeezepage.

You might already have seen a squeezepage.

A squeezepage is a simple webpage which has a headline and a message..

and asks you to enter your email (and sometimes other personal information such as name) in return for some sort of bribe.

The bribe can be a free ebook, video, audio, software tool, resource list.

In fact, ANYTHING that the visitor might perceive as valuable. Valuable enough to enter their email address.

For you, this means you’ll be building a list of leads which you can expose to your marketing message daily (weekly or monthly if you prefer) via the wonderful media of email.

For a great affiliate marketing guide which includes how to set up a squeezepage, I fully recommend The Affiliate Code.

The Affiliate Code is an affiliate course which gives you all the ins and outs on how to successfully market for free as an affiliate.

Affiliate Marketing Strategy – Articles

February 23rd, 2010

Article marketing is a great way to drive more traffic towards your affiliate links.

And you can combine it with a blog, squeezepage, website etc..

(don’t drive traffic directly to affiliate links, as most article directories don’t allow it)

..for free.

Here’s how:

  1. Register at one of the article directories below.
  2. Choose one keyword to focus you article on.
  3. Write real value content – only between 300 and 500 words.
  4. Include a link with your keyword as name (anchor name) in the author/bio box, and point it to your blog post, squeezepage, article etc..
  5. Submit to other directories
  6. Repeat with new keyword and content

This is a cheap and quick way to generate good affiliate commissions.

Ones you get the hang of it, this process will go quicker and easier with time.

As with anything consistency and discipline is the key.

Set yourself a goal to post one article to several directories per day, every other day, week, etc. Just keep it consistent and you’ll see awesome results!

List of good article directories:

Good look in your article marketing efforts!

For more information on how to market as an affiliate for free, and still earn insane profits, I recommend The Affiliate Code.

Affiliate Marketing Tool – Aweber

February 21st, 2010

Why sell just one thing to your customer

..when you can sell tons?

That’s what the successful product owners have realized, and are profiting from.

Everytime you as an affiliate refer a sale to a product owner, he captures (more often than not) the customers email address – which

makes him/her able to build a relationship with the customer, sell product on the backend, become a super affiliate with the list he is building – and so on.

But don’t despair!

You can do the same by capturing your prospects (potential customers) email address before he does..

by using an autoresponder on your blog, website or on a squeezepage.

I recommend Aweber for your autoresponder needs.

They have great email deliverability, and take care of their customers.

For a full affiliate marketing guide which includes how to set up an autoresponder, check out The Affiliate Code.
